Meet Miss Hannay
Hello my name is Elisa Hannay, and I am the all school art teacher here at QCS. I have known since the age of twelve that I wanted to be a teacher. Both of my parents were teachers so it seems that it runs in the family. My father grew up in Haiti and taught at Quisqueya a long time ago. His father helped found Quisqueya. They are the reason that I found out about QCS and moved here. Not only have I learned from my parents but I have been very privileged to study under many mentors and professionals over the years. Before moving to Haiti I worked for a public school for four years, a professional actress for three years, a certified nurses aid for four years and a caregiver to those with mental disabilities for 3 years.
Art education is very important to me as I see it as a wonderful tool for people who have different learning styles, as well as a constructive outlet for self-expression. I have a love for all art forms though I have a special place in my heart for ceramics, photography and theater As an educator I believe that any child can learn and succeed in art. I also believe that the study and practice of art can provide a variety of knowledge and help achieve growth in the developmental process.
